- Holidays: Term Time Only (with additional holiday pay)
Teaching Assistant required to work as a 2 – 1 supporting a Year 4 student with a Neurological Condition in a Hornchurch School.
The student is working at a very low level and can be challenging at times, the right candidate would ideally need to be experienced, supportive, and nurturing with a kind nature.
Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification
Experience and knowledge of working with Learning Disabilities and Neurological Conditions
Secure knowledge and skills relating to strategies to support the student to the best of their ability and manage challenging behaviour.
An interest, motivation and passion for working with Special Needs
Calm, controlled and effective communication and relate well to all children and adults within the school
The ability to reflect on own behaviour to ensure teams are strong and working together to meet the needs of the student
Supportive with a calm and patient nature.
Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within this
Be comfortable to manage students personal care as and when required
Level 2 (GCSE) Qualifications in English and Maths
Qualified with a relevant L2/L3 Teaching Assistant or Care qualification
