TEACHING ASSISTANT

- Duration: Temporary role in first instance; opportunity to be considered for the permanent role.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.45am - 3.15pm
- Holidays: Term Time Only (with additional holiday pay)
Recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 student with ASD in a Thurrock School. The student is verbal with limited communication and showing signs of frustration.
The suitably qualified Teaching Assistant would ideally have a nurturing nature and the experience and knowledge of working with ASD.
Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification:
- A drive and energy to support students with Autism
- Knowledge and experience working with ASD students and to have an understanding of their learning pathways.
- Knowledge of PECs or Makaton would ideally be essential.
- Be able to effectively manage the student’s behaviour, social interaction with an understanding of triggers and traits.
- Be able to actively promote and assist safe learning
- You will ensure the student can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills.
Qualified with a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification and/or SEND care qualifications.
