Special Needs Teaching Assistant

- Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm or 9.00am to 3.00pm would be considered to parents doing school runs.
- Holidays: Term Time Only (with additional holiday pay)
Working in partnership with the Head Teacher of a school based in Rochester looking to recruit a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with a passion to work with students that have various Learning Disabilities; Dyslexia, Mental Health and ASD.
A school or care background will be considered if you have experience with Learning Disabilities.
- Knowledge or an understanding of Autism, Mental Health and Dyslexia would be an advantage
- Working 1:1 and in small groups to provide personal support to learners.
- To be willing to work across all key stages 1-5
- You will ensure all students can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills
- Be able to actively promote and assist safe learning
- Previous experience working with learning disabilities in a classroom based setting or care setting is desirable
- Working alongside the teacher to be a role model and guide, to motivate and enable all students to achieve.
For this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role it is ideal if you are:
- Qualified with a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant/Care certification and/or SEND qualifications.
- Good understanding of supporting learning and triggers to provide development and growth
A full training programme is in place for continued CPD.
