School Caretaker

Caretaker required to join the team in a Thurrock Primary School. We are looking for somebody who is reliable, hardworking and proactive.

For the role as a Caretaker you will be responsible to carry out minor repairs if needed and to make sure the school building / grounds are well maintained and safe for the students, staff and visitors, you will be required to manage the school gate at the end of the school day.

Caretaker Responsibilities :

• To carry out maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of the school grounds.
• Carry out checks at the end of the school day that all windows are locked.
• To make sure the school and grounds are safe, secure and presentable at all times.
• To open the school gate at the end of the day for the parents and children.
• To have a good awareness of health/safety & hygiene.
• Able to work independently/part of a team and takes pride in their work.
• Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of a busy school environment.
• Previous experience in caretaking or facilities maintenance (alternatively if you have maintenance or handyperson experience that could also be sufficient).
• Good practical skills in handling repairs and maintenance tasks.

This post is subject to a face-to-face interview, vetting checks including enhanced DBS and full compliance for working with children.
