Job Description:

An enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching assistant, is required at an Upminster primary school. The successful applicant will support in KS1 on a 1:1 basis. The right candidate will have the drive and energy to provide their student with effective learning experiences.

Term time only – 30 hours a week – 8.45am to 3.30pm (plus holiday pay)

The role:

  • Support a KS1 student with ADHD on a 1-1 basis
  • Manage a learning workstation and provide structured choice to keep pace.
  • Understand how to use a variety of verbal and non-verbal cues and communication.
  • Be resilient to manage behaviour, social interaction and understand triggers.
  • Be able to actively promote and assist safe learning whilst allowing opportunities to risk assess.

                                             Your profile:

  • An energy and drive for working with students with ADHD
  • Teaching assistant qualification
  • A team player and skills to collaborate with flexible learning routines
  • Experience of working 1-1 in a class-based setting
  • Good understanding of professional boundaries

                                        Ideally you would:

  • Have experience with non-verbal, picture communication
  • Be familiar with 1- 1 support work in classroom
  • Have Knowledge of ADHD in young children
